| The Friends run a series of events throughout the year. The events described below were held during 2005 - 2007.
The Friends of the Anglesey Red Squirrels held an illustrated slide show entitled 'Red Squirrels Return to Newborough Forest' in Llangaffo, Anglesey. The presentation was on Friday 18th of March 2005 in the village Hall, Llangaffo. Around twenty five people attended the presentation and learned about the work that is being undertaken in the forest.

Local school children helped us build red squirrel nest boxes at Plas Cadnant Gate, Anglesey. Later a total of 15 new nest boxes were erected in Newborough forest in an area where red squirrels have been seen and captured. The boxes will be monitored in the future and will provide invaluable information on squirrel breeding and distribution.
Martin led a happy band of eight through Newborough Forest, and although no red squirrels were spotted, the group did get a superb view of several Ravens and a Greater Spotted Woodpecker. The forest looked spectacular in the late spring sunshine and the day was a wonderful success.
Bethan Jones held a red squirrel workshop at the Eisteddfod. She promoted the publication of the book 'Y Wiwer Goch' (the Welsh adaptation of Tom Tew and Niall Benvie's book on the red squirrel).
We had a stand and several events at the Festival.
A three day international conference was held at Sheffield Hallem University. Entitled: 'Ecology, history, culture and management of alien plants and animals - issues for nature conservation' the event aimed to raise awareness about a range of exotic and non-indigenous species in the UK. The Anglesey Red Squirrel Project gave a presentation. Download PDF Conference Details
We had a stand at the Fair selling our merchandise and also making nest boxes and squirrel feeders. Experts were on hand to talk about red and grey squirrels. And as ever, there was a chance to join up and become an active member of the Friends.
The Friends had a stand at the show, with games, merchandise and experts at hand to answer squirrel questions.
We had a series of events scheduled for red squirrel week this year. First, we were very proud to announce the publication of 'Y Wiwer Goch' which is the first Welsh language book on red squirrels. Bethan Wyn Jones has translated the very popular book 'The Red Squirrel' by Tom Tew and has added a section specifically regarding the status of red squirrels in Wales. We also hosted a half day Education Seminar entitled "CONSERVATION & LEARNING". This was open to local teachers, educationists and all members of the Friends and was held on 15th September 2005 at 4.30pm in TRE-YSGAWEN HALL, Anglesey Suite, Capel Coch, Angelsey.
There were also displays by other organisation involved in local conservation, including the RSPB, CCW and FCW. During red squirrel week we had a range of woodland walks and events.
The Friends attended this international event with a stand and poster display.
An evening aimed at Welsh learners in particular, who needed encouragement and confidence, with a warm welcome given to all. The event was held at the Trees Hotel, Amlwch. Tickets £2 from the Corwas and dafydd shops, and Cwpwrdd cornel, Llangefni
